Game of Thrones actor makes bleak prediction for how season 8 finale will end
It would be quite the closing shot
With his character having died back in season 3, Richard Madden is able to enjoy Game of Thrones like a regular fan.
Asked whether he had kept up with the show by The Hollywood Reporter this week, Madden said: “Absolutely. I can’t wait for the new season.
“I kind of don’t recognize that I was in it anymore because I’ve been watching so many years of it, and they talk about Robb Stark and I know who he is but I don’t see myself in that role,” the Bodyguard actor continued.
“I’m just a viewer now, which is so good. That was one of the bad things about being in the show is you got the scripts so you knew what was going to happen next, and I’ve not had that for years, so now I can just truly enjoy it as a viewer, which is thrilling.”
Madden will be as in the dark as the rest of when it comes how the show will end, but he does have a theory, and it isn’t pretty.
“I kind of think it’s just going to be three dragons flying around and everyone else is dead,” he predicted. “It’s a possibility!”
The most prominent theories have Daenerys Targaryen or Gendry Baratheon sitting on the Iron Throne once the dust settles, but this is assuming the White Walkers are defeated. Given the show’s history of killing off key characters, it wouldn’t be a total shock if it did indeed leave no human left alive.
Game of Thrones season 8 is expected in the first half of 2019.
