Line of Duty star Laura Elphinstone cameos in Arya Stark scenes

*Spoiler warning for Game of Thrones season 8 episode five*

Game of Thrones fans spotted another cameo in the latest episode, and it was arguably a more familiar face than others to have appeared so far in the eighth and final season.

Line of Duty fans will have recognised actor Laura Elphinstone fleeing through King's Landing amid the chaos caused by Drogon and Dany's fiery wrath.

Unfortunately she meets her fate along with her daughter, despite Arya Stark's attempts to save them both.

She plays DI Michelle Brandyce in Jed Mercurio's hit BBC police drama, which recently concluded its fifth season.

Her role in Game of Thrones was reported as early as July last year, when fansite Watches on the Wall reported she would play a character called "Nora".

Elphinstone had previously worked with fellow GoT alumnus Owen Teale (Alliser Thorne) in a revival of the play Rutherford and Son.

The final episode of Game of Thrones airs on 19 May, on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NowTV in the UK.
