Ruthie Henshall cheats on I'm a Celebrity

Some viewers have questioned whether the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp had suffered an outbreak of Covid-19, during the airing of Saturday night’s episode.

Instead of the usual live show, ITV instead aired a compilation episode showcasing some of the best clips and previously unseen footage from the past week of the competition.

The change prompted many viewers whether the episode was a last-minute fix by the broadcaster caused by an outbreak of coronavirus in Gwrych Castle.

“#Covid in the castle?!” wrote one viewer on Twitter. “Only explanation for this.”

“Do people reckon Covid has hit I’m a Celebrity?” asked another. “Can’t understand why they are showing a recap show after less than a week on prime time viewing.”

“Has someone caught Covid-19 on that I’m a Celebrity? Just showing repeats of all week,” wrote someone else.

However, the decision to air compilation episodes on Saturday nights was actually announced before the series began.

The fact that the pre-recorded episode was scheduled in advance will likely prove of little consolation to the I’m a Celebrity fans who hoped to tune in for a brand new episode, however.

Many viewers were angry and disappointed at the lack of new I’m a Celebrity content, voicing their dissatisfaction on social media.
