Martin Compston Celebrates Scotland Football Win On Set Of Line Of Duty

Line of Duty star Martin Compston has shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes video from the show’s sixth series.

The Scottish actor, who plays DI Steve Arnott on the BBC police drama, brought production to a standstill while filming last year in order to watch his national football team in a penalty shoot-out against Serbia.

“Please, two seconds,” he is seen shouting at the crew, before getting inside the flashing police car to watch the penalties unfold.

Compston can be seen getting gradually more excited, before jumping in the air and running around cheering as Scotland secured their place in the Euros for the first time in 23 years.

“Come on,” he shouted while jumping in the air. “Come on Scotland! Yes… F***ing yes, man!”

Sharing the clip on Twitter on Wednesday, Compston captioned the post: “With an ep 2 epaulettes spoiler out the way, I can reveal what happens when your [sic] in the middle of raiding bent coppers but @ScotlandNT are in a penalty shoot out to end 20 year of heartache.

“Steve to Scots in point zero seconds #yessirwecanboogie.”

Line of Duty returned to our screens last month, and sees anti-corruption unit AC-12 trying to work out if DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) is linked to the death of journalist Gail Vella (Andi Osho) or the leader of an organised crime group known as “H”.

Fans of the show are already trying to figure out what could happen next, with one theory linking Joanne to deceased series five’s undercover officer John Corbett.

Others have suggested that Gail had a connection to Roz Huntley’s lawyer from series four.
