A comedy dream team has been assembled over at FX, with Louis C.K. set to co-write a new show with Zach Galifianakis.

The series will form part of the network's newly-inked deal with the stand-up comedian, coming off the back of his semi-autobiographical show Louie.

Galifianakis, best known for the Hangover films and his Between Two Ferns YouTube series, will star in the as yet untitled show, co-writing and co-executive producing with C.K.

Details of the project are scarce, which marks the first sale for C.K.'s new Pig Newton banner.

It forms one of 12 pilots currently in the works at FX Productions, alongside Charlie Kaufman's comedy How & Why, The Comedian starring Billy Crystal, a new show from Weeds' Stephen Falk called You're The Worst and more.

Galifianakis has a number of small screen credits, previously appearing in HBO's Bored To Death and Adult Swim's Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job.
