AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen suffers burns to upper body after social media stunt engulfs her in flames
Source said dancer has needed three skin grafts since accident in January
AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen has suffered severe burns after filming a social media stunt that went wrong.
Strictly Come Dancing star Pritchard was filming a “life hack” with Quinnen, who is also a dancer, in January, that demonstrates how a glass bottle can be cut in half to be used as a vase.
The technique involves dipping a rope into a flammable chemical, wrapping it around the bottle and lighting a flame. However, the glass exploded and set Quinnen’s upper body on fire.
Confirming the incident, a spokesman for the couple told The Metro: “Abbie has undergone surgery on her upper body and will continue to receive treatment.
“Abbie and AJ cannot thank all the nurses and doctors enough for their incredible care, support and expertise whilst being at Chelsea and Westminster Burns Unit and at Ealing Hospital.”
A source also told The Sun that Pritchard had tried to stop Quinnen from burning and immediately called emergency services. His brother, Love Island star Curtis Pritchard, drove them to Ealing Hospital.

Quinnen was then admitted to intensive care before being transferred to Chelsea and Westminster’s specialist burns unit. According to the source, she has made 20 hospital visits and has needed three skin grafts.
