Alexis Eddy death: MTV’s Are You the One contestant dies, aged 23
Cause of death is currently unknown
Alexis Eddy, a former contestant on MTV reality dating show Are You the One?, has been found dead, aged 23.
Police received an emergency call just before 7am on Thursday (9 January) regarding a woman going into cardiac arrest, TMZ reports.
Currently, no foul play is suspected but police are awaiting toxicology results to learn the cause of death.
MTV released a statement, reading: “MTV is deeply saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Alexis Eddy. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”
Eddy’s last Instagram photo shows her smiling while celebrating Christmas.
Eddy was open about her struggles with substance abuse following her time on the MTV reality show. In August 2019, she celebrated getting sober and, months later, announced she was engaged.
As of January 2020, the photos she had posted of her fiancé have been deleted.
Dating series Are You the One? helps people find love by using a dating algorithm to help quantify compatibility. Eddy appeared on the show’s sixth season in 2017.
