Taiwanese actor, singer and model Alien Huang has died at the age of 36.

Local news reports say that Huang’s body was found on Wednesday morning (16 September).

Taipei police said they believe his death was an accident, but no cause had been confirmed at the time of writing.

Alien – real name Huang Hong-Sheng – began his career at 18 years old.

The singer was formerly part of the boybands HC3 and Cosmo before he released several albums as a solo artist.

The musician then ventured into acting, and went on to star in numerous movies and television dramas.

Huang was also well-known as a presenter of the popular Taiwanese show 100% Entertainment, which he exited from in 2016.

News of Huang’s death emerges just two days after Japanese actor Sei Ashina was found dead in her Tokyo apartment, also aged 36. Tokyo police confirmed to local media that her death was a suicide.
