American Horror Story: Freak Show actress Rose Siggins dies aged 43

Rose Siggins, best known for her role as Legless Suzi in American Horror Story: Freak Show, has died aged 43.

The actress had her legs amputated at a young age due to a rare genetic condition which caused abnormal fetal development on the lower spine.

FX network, who make the popular horror series, paid tribute to the star, writing on Facebook: "She was a kind person, a loving mother and a very talented actor. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time."

The mother of two died in Denver, Colorado, with her agent saying more details would be released soon.

Co-star Sarah Paulson tweeted: "The AHS family lost one of our own... Rose Siggins was an absolute light... I will never forget your laugh or your beautiful eyes."

American Horror Story: Freak Show was the fourth season of the acclaimed show, and featured Angela Bassett, Lily Rabe and Jessica Lange.

It gained a 20 Emmy Award nominations, with Sarah Paulson going on to win Best Supporting Actress at the 5th Critics Choice Television awards.

The current series, Hotel, features Lady Gaga, a role for which shes been nominated for a Golden Globe.
