American Horror Story Season 7 Trailer

Jessica Lange is returning to American Horror Story for its eighth season.

The original star of Ryan Murphy's long-running anthology series will reprise the role of Constance, the character she first played, in an episode directed by costar Sarah Paulson.

Lage appeared in the first four seasons of American Horror Story winning two of four Emmys she was nominated for. Following her departure, she collaborated with Murphy on Feud playing Joan Crawford opposite Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis,

The announcement of her return follows confirmation that the series will return for a tenth run meaning it'll be on air for at least another two years. The eighth season, titled Apocalypse, will serve as a crossover between the first and third (Murder House and Coven, respectively) focusing on the antichrist offspring of characters played by Evan Peters and Connie Britton.

Alongside Lange, Paulson and Peters, returning cast members include Kathy Bates, Adina Porter and Emma Roberts. Joan Collins will also star.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse returns in the US on 12 September with its UK debut expected soon after on FOX.
