Ever since Young Sheldon started, fans have been wondering why Sheldon Cooper’s older brother had never made an appearance on The Big Bang Theory.
Well, wonder no more, as the character — played by Montana Jordan on the prequel show — will appear on the main series very soon.
Jerry O’Connell, best known for the films Stand by Me, Jerry Maguire, and Kangaroo Jack along with the TV shows The Defenders and Sliders, will play the character.
The brother, named George “Georgie” Cooper Jr, will appear during the season finale, at the wedding of both Amy and Sheldon.

Other family members who have previously appeared on the show include Sheldon’s mother (Laurie Metcalf, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for Lady Bird), his twin sister, Missy (Courtney Henggeler), and his ‘Meemaw’ (June Squibb).
The Big Bang Theory is currently 11 seasons in and has become one of the most-watched shows currently airing in the US. Jim Parsons — who plays Sheldon — reportedly earns $900,000 per episode, as does co-star Johnny Galecki.
