Big Brother: Viewers call for Marco Pierre White Jr to be removed after 200 Ofcom complaints

Viewers took offence to three intense events that took place over the weekend

If Channel 5 felt it was under any pressure to outdo last year's series of Big Brother in the controversy stakes, it needn't worry. The latest series - which began just last Tuesday (7 June) - has already done so thanks to housemate Marco Pierre White Jr.

It's emerged that the past weekend's episodes contained several moments that viewers took offence to, chief of which was Pierre White Jr asking fellow housemate Laura Carter to 'choke' him while straddling and groping one another.

Ofcom has since confirmed to Mirror Online that there has been a total of 252 complaints meaning the broadcasting regulator must now assess the situation.

Pierre White Jr - son of famous chef Marco Pierre White - had previously been filmed getting up and close with socialite Carter under her bed covers.

Just three days after entering the house, he was given a formal warning by bosses after Carter admitted she had felt uncomfortable with his "wandering hands." Viewers are now calling for the wild housemate to be ejected from the North London compound.

Elsewhere, Irish housemate Hughie Maughan was seen losing his temper in the show's famous Diary Room following an aggressive argument with Natalie Rowe.

Big Brother bosses are yet to offer a word on the complaints received by Ofcom.

The reality series, now in its 17th year, is presented by Emma Willis and airs nightly on Channel 5.
