Bodyguard: Richard Madden to reprise role for Red Nose Day special
David Budd returns to protect the iconic red nose

While it remains unconfirmed whether Bodyguard will return for a second series, Richard Madden will return as the eponymous character later this year to raise money for Comic Relief.
The actor, who won a Golden Globe for his performance in the BBC show, plays the heroic bodyguard David Budd on the show and will reportedly be tasked with protecting the iconic red nose this Red Nose Day.
Bodyguard was a ratings juggernaut for the BBC in 2018, with 10.4 million people tuning in for the live finale broadcast.
Other highlights lined up for the annual Red Nose Day charity event include a short sequel to Four Weddings and a Funeral, entitled “One Red Nose Day and a Wedding”, with Hugh Grant, Anna Chancellor, Andie MacDowell and Rowan Atkinson reprising their roles from the original film.
Sir Alan Sugar will also host a celebrity version of his entrepreneurial reality show The Apprentice, and a group of other well-known personalities – such as Love Island star Dani Dyer and former Labour MP Ed Balls – will attempt to scale Mount Kilimanjaro, all to raise money for the children’s charity.
Red Nose Day 2019 will air on BBC1 on Friday 15th March.
