Cat Deeley to make presenting comeback as new host of Lorraine over holiday period
Deeley is due to make her hosting debut on Lorraine next week
Cat Deeley is set to make her UK presenting comeback when she takes over for Lorraine Kelly over the Easter holidays.
With Kelly scheduled to take a break from hosting duties on her self-titled ITV show, Deeley will take over the reins beginning next week.
Deeley confirmed the news to The Mirror, stating: “Lorraine has kindly entrusted me with her show while she has a break over Easter.
“I’m so happy to be back at ITV for the coming week and looking forward to meeting some people I’ve wanted to interview for sometime and also welcoming some old friends on air.”
Victoria Kennedy, editor for the breakfast show, added: “Next week the lovely Cat Deeley will take to the helm of Lorraine, providing viewers at home with much-needed Easter enjoyment.
“As a huge fan of SMTV, I’m more than just a bit delighted. And of course we look forward to welcoming Ranvir [Singh] back too,” she said. “We’ve got a great lineup of Easter guests joining us.”
Prior to her forthcoming stint on Lorraine, UK viewers welcomed Deeley back to their screens at the end of last year when she joined forces with Ant and Dec for a SM:TV Live reunion special.
The star recently returned to the UK last year after nearly 15 years living in the US, where she presented reality shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and This Time Next Year.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
