Community reunion: Sitcom cast hint at story ideas for sequel film
Stars of the beloved sitcom discussed potential plot details during a livestreamed Q&A following a charity table read

The cast of the hit sitcom Community discussed plot ideas for a sequel film, during a livestreamed table read of the classic episode “Cooperative Polygraphy”.
The event was organised in aid of the charities World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods, and was attended by almost the enitre original cast, including Donald Glover, Joel McHale, Alison Brie and Danny Pudi, along with guest star Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian).
After the table read, the cast recorded a Q&A, which is when discussion turned to the prospect of a movie. Firstly, Glover was asked about his character Troy Barnes, who was last seen lost at sea.
“In the Community world he is definitely dead,” joked Glover, before adding that he thought a good movie idea might centre around Troy’s best friend Abed (Pudi) searching for him.
“I like movies like that,” said the Atlanta star.
Later in the discussion, Pudi said: “I love the idea of Troy being lost and Abed’s mission is to go find him, try to track someone down – that would be fun.”
Dan Harmon, who created the series, responded by saying: “It writes itself... just put in some Die Hard references.”
Although reports of a follow up to the sitcom, which ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, have started circulating in earnest, the cast refused to confirm that any film was forthcoming.
“We can’t make movies right now anyway,” commented Glover, although Brie said: “I’m in. I think it would be a blast.”
