Coronavirus: Good Morning Britain viewers furious after Piers Morgan keeps interrupting expert
Dr Hilary Jones was brought on to talk about the deadly virus – but could barely get a word in
Piers Morgan has provoked the fury of Good Morning Britain viewers after interrupting coronavirus advice from the programme’s medical expert.
Speaking to Dr Hilary Jones on the morning chat show, Morgan and co-host Susanna Reid asked about the virus, which claimed the life of a fifth UK victim yesterday.
When the doctor tried to respond, he was repeatedly talked over by Morgan.
Viewers took to Twitter to complain about Morgan’s impertinence, with one user begging: “Please please today let Hilary talk!!!!!!”
Many others threatened to turn off the programme altogether.
Dr Jones did manage to get a few words of advice in, however, and warned that “it will be a matter of days before we do instigate more draconian measures” to combat the virus.
The number of confirmed UK cases has risen to 319. You can keep up-to-date with all the latest coronavirus developments here.
