Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 return date announced by HBO

The HBO hackers have turned their attentions to another TV show after leaking episodes from the long-awaited return of comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm.

EW confirmed that select episodes from season nine have found their way online an entire month early forcing the network to release a fresh statement.

“We are not in communication with the hacker and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released,“ HBO said. ”It has been widely reported that there was a cyber incident at HBO. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in.

“Obviously, no company wants their proprietary information stolen and released on the internet. Transparency with our employees, partners, and the creative talent that works with us has been our focus throughout this incident and will remain our focus as we move forward.

“This incident has not deterred us from ensuring HBO continues to do what we do best.”

Variety reports that episodes of other future series - including 2018 Bill Hader comedy Barry and David Simon's 70s-set porn drama The Deuce - have also been leaked.

This time around, Game of Thrones was left unscathed.

Curb Your Enthusiasm will officially return to screens on 1 October a whole five years after leaving it.
