EastEnders: Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt bombarded with crying memes every single day
‘I’ve got nothing left’ scene is one of soap’s most famous clips
EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has revealed he is sent memes of his character’s famous crying scene every single day.
Woodyatt’s character Ian Beale has become synonymous with his “I’ve got nothing left” scene from 2014, which saw him crying in Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) arms after he found out his daughter had been murdered.
Speaking to Stacey Dooley on Secrets from the Square, Woodyatt said he is sent pictures of that scene every day as people create different memes of it.
“I must get sent that clip three times a day if not more,” he said. "That gets so taken out of context now, it gets used for everything, for 'I've run out of toilet paper.’"
EastEnders recently resumed filming after being put on hold due to the pandemic.
A new mural of a black woman by London-based visual artist Dreph has been painted onto the set of the BBC1 soap.
Jon Sen, executive producer of EastEnders, said: “Dreph's mural is an exciting and timely addition to the show that reflects events taking place in the real world.
“Anti-racism is something that the cast, crew and producers care passionately about at EastEnders and the show is well known for tackling social issues and celebrating diversity and inclusivity through its characters and storylines.”
