EastEnders viewers believe the BBC have accidentally missed an episode following a glaring 'plot hole' in Monday night's edition.

Fans were left scratching their heads upon seeing character Kush Kazemi walking around Albert Square having been seen undertaking heart surgery one episode previous.

Kush, played by Strictly 2017 contestant Davood Ghadami, suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital after being given CPR. His family later learned he has Brugada syndrome - a rare inherited heart rhythm disturbance - and he was last seen being wheeled to the operating theatre after accepting a marriage proposal from girlfriend Denise (Diane Parish).

Just one episode later, however, Kush was sitting in the cafe with his new fiance and later went to the hospital to visit another character altogether, his mum Carmel (Bonnie Langford), who was being tested for the syndrome her son has.

Fans expressed their confusion over Twitter.

EastEnders continues on Tuesday (19 September) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
