Fleabag has triumphed in the Emmy 2019 nominations, receiving a grand total of 11 nods, including one in the lead actress category for creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Waller-Bridge’s co-stars Sian Clifford, Olivia Coleman, Fiona Shaw and Kristin Scott Thomas also all received nominations for their performances in the BBC comedy drama.

In the supporting actress category, Clifford was recognised for her portrayal of uptight sister Claire, while Coleman received a nod for the passive aggressive godmother.

Shaw and Scott-Thomas received nominations for guest starring in the series, with the former playing a counsellor and the latter a businesswoman named Belinda.

Andrew Scott, who famously played a hot priest in series two, was notably absent from the nominees list.

Other British series that received a nod in the Emmy 2019 nominations include A Very English Scandal, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Brexit: The Uncivil War.
