If you're a Friday Night Lights fan, the only place to have been last night was the streets of Austin which welcomed back the cast to mark the show's tenth anniversary.

The 'high school rally' - held by ATX Festival - saw many of the beloved series' cast members reunite for a five-hour event which included live music and a screening of classic episodes.

Among those present at the event were Scott Porter (Jason Street), Zach Gilford (Matt Saracen), Brad Leland (Buddy Garrity) and Adrianne Palicki (Tyra Collette).

Also present were Jesse Plemons (Landry Clarke), Gaius Charles (Brian "Smash" Williams) and Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty) alongside surprise guests Louanne Stephens (Grandma Saracen) and Connie Britton who played one-half of the couple at the show's heart, Tami Taylor.

Unfortunately, her co-star Kyle Chandler - who won an Emmy for his role of Coach Eric Taylor in 2010 - was unable to attend as was Tim Riggins actor Taylor Kitsch.

The cast gathered on the site that served as the Dillon Panthers field during the show's production.

Perhaps the most touching photo to emerge from the event came from Stephens who was particularly overjoyed to be reunited with her on-screen grandson for the first time in five years.

Britton's post-FNL series Nashville was recently announced as being saved from cancellation following a fan petition that amassed over 170,000 signatures.

Friday Night Lights focused on a fictional high school football team in small-town Texas, and ran for five seasons from 2006 to 2011.
