Game of Thrones season 6 opening credits features Kit Harrington's name

Or perhaps it is because he appears as a corpse

With Game of Thrones season six having debuted in LA, the internet has been overloaded with spoilers (none of which you will find below).

One piece of very interesting information to emerge is that Kit Harrington’s name remains in the opening credits. This will come as a surprise to anyone who watches the show as Harrington's character, Jon Snow, was seemingly killed last season.

On numerous occasions, the actor has implored that Snow is dead, merely appearing as a corpse in the upcoming season. However, with his name seen on screen, many have been reminded of The Walking Dead’s season six title sequence.

Last year, one of the AMC’s main characters was thought to be dead and his name was removed from the opening sequence. Eventually, it was revealed the character had not died and his name was once again put into the sequence. With HBO leaving Harrington's name in, are they implying he'll be back?

Of course, this could all be very misleading as Charles Dance’s name was in Game of Thrones season five, episode one’s opening sequence even though his character, Tywin Lannister had died the previous season. Dance only appeared as a corpse in that episode.

Whether he will remain dead for the whole season, we can only speculate on - until the 24 April at least. Here's everything we know so far.
