Almost every Game of Thrones actor under the sun has been asked about Jon Snow and whether he is really dead.

Speaking to Radio Times (via Digital Spy), Ser Alliser Thorne actor Owen Teale was finally asked about the character's death, expanding on his own character’s motivations for killing the Stark.

"I do think it's vengeful," he said. "It's due to the shining quality of Jon Snow's untarnished youth.

"I think, in the background, Ser Alliser has probably seen too much. There is a darkness there. He's a damaged soul and Jon Snow isn't. And he can't bear it.”

Throughout the show, the pair shared a rivalry, culminating in Snow beating Alisar to become Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. The final episode ended with the Master-at-Arms leading a pack of Night’s Watch men - including Olly - to stab Snow repeatedly ‘for The Watch’.

Rumours around Kit Harrington’s return have been bubbling for months, with the HBO having to explain to fans that releasing images of Jon Snow in the run up to season six was not ‘fan manipulation’.
