Gemma Collins has thrown her hat into the ring to be the first female James Bond.

Presenting The Gemma Collins Podcast, the Towie star said that being an “international super spy” would be her “dream job”.

“I’d love to do a particular job which is all about keeping secrets,” she said. “I am constantly obsessed with watching action movies and I can see myself being the first female Bond.”

She continued: “A plus-size girl, an Essex girl. The name’s Bond, Gemma Bond. It’s got a great ring to it and I’ve got a licence to thrill, baby.”

Admitting that she wouldn’t put on a “fancy accent” to play the part, she explained: “I’d talk how I talk, it’d be absolutely fabulous.”

Discussions about who will replace Daniel Craig as the secret agent have been underway since the announcement that the much-delayed film No Time To Die would be his last outing as Bond.

Last week, bookmakers suspended betting on Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page taking the role, after he swiftly rose in the ranks following the release of the Netflix series.

Page commented on the rumours in January, saying he was “flattered” by the association, but brushed them off by suggesting that any actor in the spotlight gets linked to the role.

He is the odds-on favourite to be announced as the new 007, overtaking previous frontrunners Tom Hardy and James Norton.
