Gogglebox: Daisy May Cooper strikes back at trolls who criticised her appearance on celebrity version
'Haters gonna hate but I'm gonna carry on letting my hooters swing,' the This Country star said
Daisy May Cooper has responded to trolls who criticised her appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.
After her debut on the Channel 4 reality show, one viewer posted on Twitter: “Watching #celebritygogglebox and daisey may cooper looks like a TROLL.”
The star of This Country then shared the tweet in a video posted on her Instagram page.
She included a short clip of herself dancing to an edited version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, in which the famous lyrics have been changed to: “Trolls just wanna have fun.”
Cooper accompanied her post with a caption reading: “Haters gonna hate but I’m gonna carry on letting my hooters swing.”
The actor, who also co-created BBC3 sitcom This Country, has since been inundated with support from fans on social media.
The video has received over 4,400 comments and nearly 90,000 likes.
Virgin Radio DJ and former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler commented: “I love your hooters! Keep swingin’ em, Daisy.”
Cooper made her debut on the popular reality series last Friday alongside her dad, Paul. On the show, Cooper also voiced her disapproval of the crowds frequenting pubs as lockdown measures ease.
The actor said: “Well we are going to get a second wave [of Coronavirus] because of all these bloody idiots on the street.” She continued: “And all these bloody idiots on the beach.”
