Netflix has shared a fake job advert for a “live-in nanny” position ahead of the release of The Haunting of Bly Manor.

After releasing a first look at the horror series, which is a follow-up to 2018’s The Haunting of Hill House, the streaming service offered fans another teaser of the new story.

A picture of a newspaper listing was shared on the Haunting Twitter page, claiming to be looking for “help” from a “live-in nanny”.

“Seeking au pair for two perfectly splendid children at the Bly Manor residence,” the advert reads. “Manor is located on the English countryside. Position begins immediately.”

The fake listing is accompanied by a UK phone number which fans are encouraged to call “to schedule an interview”, where they are met with a pre-recorded message from Flora Wingrave (Amelie Smith).

Flora Wingrave (Amelie Smith) has a message for ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ fans (Eike Schroter/Netflix)

“Hi, you’ve reached the Wingrave family at Bly Manor,” she says. “We’re not here right now. If you’re calling about the open nanny position, interviews will be conducted by our Uncle Henry in five days. It’ll be perfectly splendid. We can’t wait to meet you.”

A number of fans speculated that the surrounding adverts, which referenced “mirror installation and repair” and a lake near a “prestigious mansion home” could also be clues for the new season.

The Haunting of Bly Manor will mark Hill House’s shift to an anthology series, with each season telling a new story with new characters. Season 2 is based on Henry James’s novel The Turn of the Screw.

Victoria Pedretti, who plays Nell in Hill House, will lead the series as the tutor who arrives at a stately manor to look after the Wingrave children.

The Haunting of Bly Manor is expected to be available to stream on Netflix from October.
