Presenters Ant and Dec have dismissed suggestions that I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Helen Flanagan faked her fears during her bushtucker trials.

The former Coronation Street actress, 22, sparked suspicions when she finally conquered her nerves on her sixth trial, securing all 12 stars, after repeatedly bottling it.

Ant told This Morning: "People have said to us 'do you think it's all an act now that she's turned it round and got 12 the other day?'

"But I don't think it is. From what we've seen, I think she realised that the camp was so hungry that she had to buck her ideas up."

Co-presenter Dec said he did not think Flanagan would have to do another trial.

"They (the camp instead of viewers) have to choose themselves now who does the bushtucker trials so I don't think we'll be seeing Helen down at the trial area anymore," he said.

The pair admitted that Flanagan's decision not to attempt previous trials on the ITV1 show had caused frustration.

Ant said: "We wanted to see the trials at least attempted because there are some really good trials and we know how much people watching really like seeing them.

"You've got all the guys who have spent weeks creating it all stood around and they all kind of slump and were all a bit depressed."

Dec added: "You kind of go, 'it's just a hamster wheel Helen, you can do it!'... But what you didn't see was how long that took."

Ant said of Hugo Taylor being picked for a trial: "It was like Hallelujah", while Dec added: "I could've kissed him!"
