Hugh Grant: The Undoing actor says turning 60 was 'awful'
He described the milestone as ‘a really alarming one’
Hugh Grant has described turning 60 as “awful”.
The British star of hit films Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Bridget Jones's Diary celebrated his birthday in September.
Promoting his new series The Undoing, Grant spoke to Sunrise journalist Steve Hargrave, who asked him if “life begins at this certain age”.
“It's a really alarming one, 60 – it’s awful,” he replied.
"There's no getting round that. It's not exactly sexy, is it?"
Grant jokily added: “I mean, that must be the end.”
In the same interview, Grant said he thinks he’s been “fruitful” for the past seven years, adding: “I’ve done lots of stuff.”
His most recent roles include Florence Foster Jenkins, Paddington 2, and Guy Ritchie film The Gentlemen.
Grant recently stated the belief that his Notting Hill relationship with Julia Roberts’ character ended in a “hideous” way.
In Richard Curtis’s romantic comedy, which was released in 2000, Grant’s London bookshop owner and Roberts’ Hollywood star meet, inexplicably fall in love and end up married with children.
Grant joked that he'd like to star in a sequel showing the couple's divorce.
The Undoing , which also stars Nicole Kidman, is available to watch in the UK on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
