I'm A Celebrity 2013: The only way is Joey Essex
Historically, Joes with estuary accents have always done well on the show
What is a Joey Essex?
How does it function in the real world? And why is one staring out at me from underneath a safari hat on the latest series of I’m A Celebrity...?
If you’re unfamiliar with the oeuvre of reality TV’s latest breakout star, let me explain.
We’re only a week in and already The Only Way Is Essex’s Joey is a clear favourite to win.
We can’t attribute this to his perfectly “reem” tan, nor even to his idiot, savant-like talent for restaurant criticism, as exhibited in the Bushtucker Trials. No. it’s simply that Joey Essex simply has statistics on his side.
Historically, Joes with estuary accents have always done well on the show.
Joe Pasquale was “King of the Jungle” in series four and EastEnders actor Joe Swash took the crown in series eight.
Barring any unforeseen racist outbursts à la Celebrity Big Brother 2007, this particular Essex boy has got it in the bag.
