Jennifer Aniston will play the first female president of the United States in a new Netflix film.

First Ladies will see Aniston team up with comedian Tig Notaro, who's been cast as her wife; they'll play Beverly and Kasey Nicholson respectively, with Netflix declaring the film's tagline to be: "Behind every great woman... is another great woman."

The film is based off an original pitch by Notaro and her wife, Stephanie Allynne, who are set to write the script together. Aniston will produce alongside Notaro, Allynne, Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Betsy Koch.

However, this isn't the only TV project Aniston currently has in the works. She's also set to star alongside Reese Witherspoon in a show focused on the behind-the-scenes competition between morning shows. Apple has landed the rights to the series, which has no premiere date as of yet.

Notaro already has an existing relationship with Netflix, with her comedy special Tig Notaro Happy to Be Here, debuting on the streaming service on 22 May. She's also set to direct Ellen DeGeneres' upcoming Netflix comedy special.
