Jon Stewart finds something positive to say about Trump: "He is not a cannibal"

Over the weekend, Stephen Colbert made a surprise appearance on John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight show, cameoing midway through a scathing assessment of the Confederacy.

Having missed out on that The Daily Show reunion, Jon Stewart has since appeared on Colbert’s very own Late Night show, attacking Donald Trump

During Colbert’s extended monologue, the host began reading out the President’s Tweets concerning ‘unfunny’ hosts who should give ‘balance’ to their shows.

Rather than stop criticising Trump, Colbert decided to continue as normal, just with Stewart acting as a Republican mouthpiece.

After giving a quick aside on how Trump’s Tweet seems ridiculous, Colbert implored Stewart to be positive. After a moments awkward pause, he finally whispered: “Can I have more time?”

Another awkward pause, then Stewart finally said something: “Donald Trump… is not… a cannibal.”

Colbert joked again about Rex Tillerson reportedly calling Trump a “f**king moron”, quipping how that was the President’s secret service code name.

Saying something positive, Stewart said: “Given the choice between having hot lava poured into my pee hole and Donald Trump being president, I choose lav… the latter.”

Following a clip of Trump saying now's the calm before the storm, Stewart broke: “What the f**k is wrong with this guy? How is all this not the storm? What kind of sociopath would use that terminology while people are still literally cleaning up from storms?” Watch below.

The skit finally ended with Colbert being forced to say something positive: “Donald Trump… is not… a cannibal.”
