June Bernicoff death: Gogglebox star dies at the age of 82
Channel 4 star came to fame alongside her husband Leon, who died in 2017

Gogglebox star June Bernicoff, who was one of the show’s original participants, has died at the age of 82.
Bernicoff died following a short illness, Gogglebox’s executive producer confirmed. Her death was not related to Covid-19.
Bernicoff came to fame on the series alongside her husband, Leon, who himself died in 2017.
In a statement, Gogglebox’s executive producer Tania Alexander said that June and Leon were “a huge part of the programme’s success”, being the first couple to participate on the series.
“Their warmth, wit and contrasting personalities endeared them to the nation during the course of the first 10 series,” she continued. “A remarkably independent, principled woman with a vivacious sense of humour and a huge passion for life, June will be dearly missed by the entire Gogglebox family, cast and crew.”
Alexander added: “Our thoughts are with June’s family – Helen and Ian, Julie and Marc, and her beloved grandchildren Frances, Sam and Faye.”
Bernicoff departed Gogglebox in 2017 following Leon’s death, later writing a book about their marriage titled Leon and June: Our Story.
Bernicoff’s family said that any donations should be made to Myton Hospice.
