EastEnders: Gray kills Kush

EastEnders favourite Davood Ghadami has paid tribute to his beloved character.

Ghadami has appeared on the BBC soap as Kush Kazemi since 2014.

However, on Monday night’s episode (19 April), he was killed off in a gruesome way, leaving fans “devastated”.

Addressing his surprise exit, Ghadami admitted “it’s hard to say goodbye”, and hailed Kush as the”best mate I’ve ever had”.

“I’ve had a blast,” he wrote on Instagram. “I will miss so many things about working @bbceastenders but it’s the people that made it.

“Tell you the truth there were scenes tonight where there was zero acting required.”

He added: “I will miss playing Kush – silly sausage might just have had too big a heart. But it’s in the bits just before and after they call ‘action’ where my favourite memories are.

“I’m a very, very lucky chap. Thank you all for watching. Kush. Out. On to the next chapter...”

Ghadami will next be seen on BBC medical drama Holby City.

Davood Ghadami has opened up about leaving ‘EastEnders’ on Instagram (Instagram)

Kush was killed by Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith). After being pulled to safety by Kush from a moving tube, Gray pushed him back into the tracks in dramatic scenes.

While many praised Ghadami’s performance, some viewers berated the writers for letting the character go in such a gruesome manner.
