Love island: Rosie upset as Adam chooses Zara

The family of Love Island star Adam Collard have thrown their support on the controversial contestant following the drama caused by his actions in the villa.

Last night's episode of the ITV2 reality series saw Adam face a dressing down from Rosie as he ditched her for newcomer Zara within days of her arrival.

Just last week, Adam had done the same thing to former contestant Kendall who ended up being dumped from the villa after he jumped to Rosie.

Following claims that Adam's family had berated his actions on social media, a message posted on his official Instagram page slammed the Twitter messages in question as fake.

“We have NOT issued this and would NOT condone these comments at all!” the message, presumably written by his family, read. “Say what you will this as a reality game show! [sic]”

The episode climaxed with a visibly emotional Rosie calling out a smirking Adam for his actions.

“I shared a night with you. I trusted you when I shared that night with you, you had what you wanted and ditched me 12 hours later,” she said, adding: “You can’t treat girls like that. You will never ever be happy because you are constantly searching for more - you trick girls into thinking that you are in here for a serious relationship; you’re in here to rack up your numbers.”

A wave of viewers, including celebrities Zoe Ball and Scarlett Moffatt, criticised Adam's behaviour on Twitter.

Tonight's edition will see Rosie issue a warning to Zara detailing Adam's track record on the show so far.

Love Island continues nightly on ITV2 at 9pm.
