Love Island contestant Sherif Lanre’s mother defends son after he is kicked out of villa
Reality contestant left the show as a mutual agreement with producers, apparently after breaking the strict code of conduct

Love Island star Sherif Lanre has been defended by his mum following the news that he had been kicked out of the villa after just nine days.
ITV announced the 20 year old’s departure from the reality series on 11 June, but the reason has not and will not be explained on air.
Speaking to MailOnline, Sherif’s mother Diana Rollanson-Williams said she thought the situation was “unfair” and was “determined to get to the bottom of it”.
“I don’t know the real reason yet, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of it,” she said. “I don’t know if he has actually done anything wrong yet. I need to look at his Love Island code of conduct and I need to speak to him properly to find out what really happened.”
“But I’m his mum,” she continued. “I’m going to think it was a bit unfair. I think so. I’m going to defend my son.”
Sherif made a statement upon leaving the show where he said he regretted not conducting himself “in the right way”.
“In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa,” he said. “I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
