Love Island: Twins Eve and Jess choose their partners

More than 200 people have complained to Ofcom about a Love Island contestant accused of trophy hunting.

Ollie Williams, one of the stars of the new winter series of the show, is the sole director of Cornish Sporting Agency in Cornwall, which specialises in “hunting” and “trapping”.

He has also been photographed allegedly posing with dead animals on safari.

Ofcom, the television regulator, has since confirmed that 231 complaints have been made against Williams.

Wildlife presenter Chris Packham has also criticised ITV for casting Williams on the series, tweeting: “Hello @ITV and @LoveIsland fans. The majority of people in the UK want to see an end to trophy hunting so perhaps it would be better to not provide a platform to anyone who kills wildlife for fun.”

He added: “Times are changing – will you?”

A separate petition urging ITV to drop Williams from the series has already amassed 32,000 signatures.

“ITV allowing him to be on the show is implying that they are okay with his sick and sadistic hobby,” the petition reads.

Williams is one of 12 contestants competing on the series, which sees the cast coupling up with one another in order to win a £50,000 prize.

Last night’s episode saw twins Jess and Eve couple up for the first time. The most exciting talking points from the episode can be found here.
