Love Island final: Which four couples are left, what time does it start and how do I vote?

This year's series of the pool-side pantomime is finally coming to an end

The Love Island final takes place tonight (Monday 29 July), with the remaining four couples set to compete for public votes in order to win the £50,000 prize.

While fans may feel the “drama” in this series has been even more contrived than previous seasons, plenty have still tuned in to watch the pool-side pantomime.

Here’s what you need to know ahead of the live final:

What happened in the penultimate episode?

It was “meet the parents” time at the Love Island villa last night, with the remaining five couples getting to see their families and introduce them to their respective partners.

Magical moments included Curtis’s mum being physically incapable of saying Maura’s name correctly, no matter how many times her son screamed it at her – she kept saying “Moira”. Gifts were given: Amber got a clover necklace from Greg’s mum, which might bring them luck for the final, while Anton’s mum presented his girlfriend Belle with a razor – passing the baton, you could say – to shave his buttocks with.

Which couple was voted off the island?

Presumably Love Island’s audience wanted to save Belle from a grisly fate, and so voted her and Anton off the island in the final dumping before the final. Anton has previous for being too cocky, so it was a huge moment for schadenfreude fans after seeing him whisper to Belle: “We’re fine… we’re fine” before Caroline Flack announced they’d received the lowest number of votes and had to leave the villa.

Which couples are in the final?

There are four couples remaining: Molly-Mae and Tommy, India and Ovie, Greg and Amber, and Curtis and Maura.

Who’s going to win?

Molly-Mae and Tommy have been together the longest and are considered the most “together” couple on the island, which has helped couples win in the past (for instance, last season’s Dany and Jack). India and Ovie, Greg and Amber, and Curtis and Maura got together far more recently but that won’t necessarily hurt their chances. Ovie has a huge fanbase although his chemistry with India on-screen hasn’t been that great; ditto Amber, who has arguably been through the most on the show out of any contestant. Being with Greg can’t hurt her chances either – fans are obsessed with his Irish accent. And while Curtis became something of a playboy in the villa, viewers are also keen on his relationship with Maura, who again is a fan-favourite. So really, it’s anybody’s guess.
