Antigoni Buxton enters Love Island

Antigoni Buxton was one of two bombshells to enter the villa during Wednesday night’s episode (22 June) of the hit ITV2 reality show.

Amber and Ikenna were dumped from the island in a double elimination on Tuesday (21 June) after losing an audience vote.

Following their departure, however, a new islander’s arrival was quickly teased to viewers.

Antigoni entered the villa on Wednesday (22 June), surprising the islanders by waiting on a sunbed in the morning. Another mystery bombshell is also due to arrive at some point during the episode.

The 26-year-old singer-songwriter from London with Cypriot roots had the chance to go on a date with three boys of her choosing. Antigoni selected Jay, Davide, and Dami.

Antigoni joins Gemma Owen as a contestant with a parent in the public eye.

During Wednesday’s episode (22 June), viewers were shocked to learn that Antigoni’s mother is TV presenter Tonia Buxton, who has hosted two Mediterranean cooking shows on Discovery and appeared as a guest host on Sunday Brunch.

In addition to appearances on Good Morning Britain, This Morning, Lorraine, and Saturday Kitchen, Tonia is also a regular presenter on GB News.

“I’ve been single for almost a year and a half and for the whole of the last year my goal has been to have as many different experiences as possible,” Antigoni said prior to entering the villa.

“I really just want to say ‘yes’ to things. Why not? It’ll be fun,” she said. “I’m a Cypriot girl and I love being in the sun. I’ve got nothing to lose!”
