It was one of the most watched comedy series of the Nineties and early Noughties – and Friends still has a loyal teenager fan base more than 20 years since it first debuted on TV.

The series continues to be so popular thanks to repeats shown around the world that Matt LeBlanc is often stopped in the streets by people asking if he is related to the actor who plays Joey Tribbiani.

The 47-year-old told The Graham Norton Show: “[Friends is] always on somewhere so there is a new crop of teenagers finding it for the first time.

“They say, ‘What’s with the grey hair? Are you Joey’s dad?’”

While LeBlanc may not be too happy about being constantly reminded of his age, fellow guest Kit Harington had some more encouraging words to say about the actor.

The Game of Thrones star, who is soon to appear in the Spooks movie, said he learnt a lot of his acting skills from Joey, “including his ‘smelt a fart’ face”:

The Graham Norton Show airs on Friday 1 May at 10.35pm on BBC1.
