Sacha Baron Cohen brings back Borat to canvass for 'racist' Trump and asks 'what's wrong with being a racist?'

Sacha Baron Cohen resurrected the character of Borat to participate in this year’s midterm elections – by canvassing for Donald Trump on the streets of Los Angeles.

“Russia interfere with the presidential election….but now, all eyes are on them. So, it’s up to Kazakhstan to swing the midterms for Premier Trump. I come to California to do election tampering,“ he said on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! segment, before pushing the envelope in true Baron Cohen form.

As Borat, he engaged in conversations with Trump supporters who defended his actions, including the decision to put immigrants in cages, and refuted the “fake news” reports of Trump. “I don’t believe he is [racist] and I don’t see any evidence of that,” one man said to which Borat responded: “I am a racist, it is nice.” He high-fived the former.

Later, Borat devised a plan to prevent a Jewish Democrat from entering the polling station by blocking him with bacon.

Baron Cohen’s most recent project, Who Is America?, hit the headlines after the comedian duped several notable politicians into making controversial admissions on camera, with some losing their jobs as a consequence.

Earlier this week, Mike Myers resurrected Austin Powers character Dr Evil on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he announced plans to run for US Congress.

In the midterm elections, he Democrats have won back control of the House of Representatives in a victory that will check Donald Trump‘s agenda over the next two years and lead to a multitude of investigations into his business dealings and his administration.
