Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370: 'Lost' reunion audience asked not to ask actors about the real-life aircraft

The cult TV show depicts the lives of passengers stranded on an island after the aeroplane they were aboard crashed

An audience attending the reunion of cast members from the TV show Lost in the US on Sunday were told not to ask about missing Flight MH370.

Actors, including Josh Holloway, Maggie Grace, Ian Somerhalder, Yunjin Kim, and creator Damon Lindelof gathered in Los Angeles, California, to celebrate the cult TV show's tenth anniversary.

The programme follows the lives of 48 people who survived a commercial passenger aircraft crash, and became stranded on a Pacific Island.

The evening's compère, comedian Paul Scheer, requested that audience members respect the situation in Malaysia as crews continue to search for the missing airliner and the 239 people onboard.

"Recent events make it interesting that we're talking about a mysterious plane disappearance," said Scheer.

"Let's not ask questions about that because they won't be in good taste," he added.

The series ran from 2004 until 2010, and was named Best Television Series at the 2006 Golden Globes.

Scheer's request comes as fears grow that the hunt Flight MH370 is being hampered by failures by many of the countries involved to work together on the search.
