Netflix dating show Too Hot to Handle tipped to be more popular than Love Island by bookies

According to Paddy Power, the dating show has a 2/1 chance of beating Love Island’s ratings

Netflix released their new dating show, Too Hot to Handle, a few days ago but already bookmakers predict it could be bigger than rival Love Island.

Paddy Power have given the show 1/2 odds of amassing more views than ITV’s winter edition of their show which had an average of 2.51 million people tuning in.

Too Hot to Handle focuses on 10 single people who are placed on an island in the hope of finding love – those who are successful can win up to $100,000 (£80,000).

However, the contestants are told that if they engage in any “romantic or sensual” contact, the prize money will decrease.

The new series consists of eight episodes, and features people from the US, UK, Canada and Ireland.

Other odds the bookies have enabled people to bet on are, 4/1 that ITV chooses to broadcast the show in the United Kingdom, and just 2/1 that an all-British version of the show goes on to be released, with current contestants from several different countries.

Though there is currently no update on when we can expect series two to be released, it’s priced at 8/1 that producers release a winter version or 4/7 that it will return next year.

Up against fierce competition such as Tiger King and Ozark, it’s priced at 25/1 to be Netflix’s most-viewed show of the year.
