Vice Principals: New Danny McBride HBO comedy trailer shows off Bill Murray's retiring headteacher

There's a new HBO comedy series on the way and thankfully, judging by its trailer, it looks to be on the funnier end of the spectrum.

Vice Principals reunites director David Gordon Green with actor Danny McBride following their four-season tenure working together on Eastbound & Down.

The time around, McBride stars as a teacher competing with Walton Goggins to replace the school's retiring principal (played by none other than Bill Murray).

McBride's film credits include This Is the End and Pineapple Express while Goggins most recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino film The Hateful Eight.

Murray's appearance is only expected to be a cameo appearance in the show's pilot episode.

Should you be a fan of Vice Principals when it airs in July, the good news is that a second season has already been filmed. Speaking about the possibility of a third, Green told IndieWire: “I don’t know, I’ll leave that up to Danny. It is something that we can see having a few seasons but it’s a group of characters that I was so excited to work with that if someone has got an idea for a Season 3, I’ll be the first to sign up.”

Vice Principals will air on HBO 17 July and is expected to follow soon after on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
