New Kenan and Kel episodes might actually be happening: ‘We've definitely been talking about it’

Following the immense popularity of Kenan and Kel’s reunion on The Tonight Show with Kimmy Fallon, Kel Thompson has revealed that the duo are discussing properly getting back into their roles.

“Oh yeah, we've definitely been talking about it,” he told Digital Spy. “Just to get back in those shoes, on stage together, we were both like, 'Oh man, we gotta do something together again.’"

The pair’s Good Burger sketch has been watched nearly 9 million times in just over a month, and they’ve stayed texting since.

“It was an awesome platform to do it on Jimmy Fallon, we were both fans of Jimmy and it was so much fun. Everyone loved it, the audience was going crazy, it was awesome,” Kel added.

"I knew there was this love to see us back together and, man, it happened, I'm glad we did it, 'cos it made a lot of people happy and they were excited by it.”

Any kind of special episode or season of the Nickelodeon would presumably have to be a lot different, with the duo now being a little longer in the tooth - Kenan and Kel ended 15 years ago.

Kenan Thompson is currently a regular on SNL now, while Kel recently joined the cast of a new Nickelodeon show Game Shakers.

He doesn’t mind that people still stop him to talk about his love for orange soda though.

"I'm not one of those child stars that get upset when people ask me to do it,” he said. “I think it's cool. If it can put a smile on somebody's face, I'm all about it, man."

I don't doubt Nickelodeon would be game for another reunion, with the network having recently set up a station dedicated to 90s nostalgia, The Splat.
