Moon Knight: Oscar Isaac tapped for new Marvel series on Disney+
Role would mark actor’s return to Marvel following 2016’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
Oscar Isaac is in talks to star as Marvel’s Moon Knight in a new series for Disney+.
According to Variety, the Star Wars actor may make a highly anticipated return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the leading part in a Disney show based on comic-book hero Moon Knight.
Isaac’s previous Marvel role saw the actor in head-to-toe blue prosthetics as the titular villain in 2016’s X Men: Apocalypse.
For the uninitiated, Moon Knight has been described as Marvel’s version of Batman. The character is a crime-fighting mercenary with multiple alter egos, including millionaire playboy Steven Grant.
However, unlike his DC counterpart, Moon Knight has a supernatural element to him that is linked to the lunar cycle.
It was previously announced that Jeremy Slater – who wrote and developed Netflix’s adaptation of The Umbrella Academy comics – has been tapped to develop the forthcoming series for Disney+.
The news will be welcomed by Marvel fans who have been left disappointed by the postponement of features such as Black Widow and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier due to the ongoing pandemic.
Isaac is next set to appear in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, alongside Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet.
