Paris Hilton has branded a group of male radio hosts “rude and chauvinistic” after rewatching an old interview from 2011.

Nearly 10 years ago, the socialite appeared on the since-closed Opie and Anthony radio show to promote her reality TV programme The World According to Paris.

During the interview, the presenters asked Hilton if she wanted to “smack [Lindsay Lohan] in the face”, and then asked if she was “annoyed” with them when she refused to answer.

“It’s very early in the morning… I’ve been on a press tour all week,” she said.

Describing Hilton as “a little tough”, they then asked her what life was like being “so completely rich”, to which the socialite said she had “worked for everything” she’d achieved and felt “blessed”.

However, she was interrupted by the presenters who told her to “stop”, adding: “Now, worked in what way?”

After Hilton left the interview, a member of the show’s crew told the presenters that Hilton had said she wasn’t going to be “berated” by them.

“What a spoiled human being,” one host said. “I bit my tongue for the show, if we hear one word of s*** from a publicist about that, we were not rude to her.”

On Wednesday (3 March) morning, Hilton reshared the eight-minute clip to her Instagram after watching it for the first time.

“I will never forget the feeling I felt in that room,’ she wrote. “It’s something I had to go through on too many occasions. It makes me so angry and sad to watch. Sad that I had to continue to put on a brave face and be polite while hurting so much inside.”

She continued: “And then at the end of the video to insult me and call me that after what they did to me?! Unbelievable! I am strong and brave now and I will never put up with this again.”

Hilton also responded to a fan who shared the video on social media, writing: “This is the type of rude, chauvinistic behaviour that myself and so many other women have had to deal with and put up with for years.”

Hilton was supported by her fans and celebrity friends, with Selma Blair writing: “I forced myself to watch through to the end because you had to experience this. Over and over. There are too many feelings to write here. But be assured, you persevered and you rose to the top, a witness to your treatment, we all are.”

Poppy Delevingne commented: “Pathetic little men. They didn’t deserve to have you sitting in that chair.”
