Having debuted in the second series of Daredevil, Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher is set to appear in his own Netflix series, the first images from which have emerged online as filming begins.

While not official photos, one pesky photographer managed to snap Bernthal on set in New York wearing dark clothes and sporting a beard.

With filming beginning now, Marvel’s Netflix schedule has been put into question; presumably, Punisher will hit the streaming service following The Defenders but before Daredevil season three and Jessica Jones season two.

In the last episode of Daredevil season two, Frank Castle finds a CD with the word Micro on it, referring to the comic book character of the same name. Micro was once friends with Castle in the comics but turns into a villain. He was also briefly mentioned in ABC’s Agents of Shield.

Meanwhile, Marvel’s Iron Fist series has been given a release date, 17 March 2017, along with another teaser video.
