It’s been over two years since Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan were last seen on screen together – in 2017’s The Trip to Spain – but the pair, alongside Michael Winterbottom, wrapped filming on The Trip to Greece last year.

Succulently seasoned with laughter, impressions and scintillating conversation, The Trip to Greece is sure to satisfy viewers’ palettes as the duo lock horns over tragedy, comedy, myth and history,” Sky One said after confirming the show’s return date of 3 March.

New episodes will be shown weekly at 10pm on Sky One – every instalment will be available to stream on NOW TV.

This series will see the duo travel to Assos, Kavala, Stagira, Athens, Epidaurus, Hydra and Plyos – and many other “beautiful Greek hot spots”.

Speaking the show’s press launch, Coogan announced this series will the last.

“I was going to say quit while you’re ahead but if that was the case we would have quit with [series] three,” Coogan quipped.

“But quit while you’re not far behind. Jump before you’re pushed. We made a joke about being repetitive in this one but I think making jokes about being repetitive about being repetitive gets a bit thin.

Brydon previously teased the show with a photo alongside Coogan, captioned: “Lunch with a friend to discuss The Trip To Greece.”

The Trip – co-created by Brydon, Coogan and director Michael Winterbottom – began on BBC Two in 2010. The series saw them embark on a restaurant tour of northern England.

Later outings saw them repeat the formula in Italy and Spain.

In the series, the actors play fictional versions of themselves.

This year, Coogan reprised the character of Alan Partridge for This Time, a BBC series that was acclaimed by critics and viewers alike.

The Trip To Greece will be broadcast on Sky One and NOW TV in Spring 2020. Gavin & Stacey returns for a one-off special on Christmas Day on BBC One.
