Who Is America?: Howard Dean duped by Sacha Baron Cohen into discussing the likelihood of Hillary Clinton being a man

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani claims that he was the victim of an attempted prank by Sacha Baron Cohen.

The 76-year-old politician told Page Six that he had meant to be attending an interview in Manhattan to discuss the coronavirus crisis when things quickly went off the rails, with Giuliani calling the police.

“This guy comes running in, wearing a crazy, what I would say was a pink transgender outfit,” Giuliani said. “It was a pink bikini, with lace, underneath a translucent mesh top, it looked absurd. He had the beard, bare legs, and wasn’t what I would call distractingly attractive.

“This person comes in yelling and screaming, and I thought this must be a scam or a shake-down, so I reported it to the police. He then ran away.”

The police arrived at the scene, but no crime was committed or arrests made.

Admitting that he didn’t immediately recognise the actor, Giuliani said: “I only later realised it must have been Sacha Baron Cohen. I thought about all the people he previously fooled and I felt good about myself because he didn’t get me.”

The Independent has approached Cohen’s representatives for comment.

The British comedian is thought to be currently recording a new season of Who Is America and was last week accused of crashing a far-right event and tricking the audience into singing along with racist songs.
