The Agency of the Performing Arts, which represented Stephen Collins for the past five years, has severed commercial links with the actor following accusations of child molestation.

A representative for the talent company confirmed to E! News: “We have cut ties with Mr. Collins.”

The update emerges less than a week after an audio tape purportedly featuring the voice of the actor, best known for his role as Reverend Eric Camden in series drama 7th Heaven, was published by TMZ.

On the tape, which was allegedly recorded as the actor recalled past incidents with a therapist and his ex-wife Faye Grant, Collins appears to be heard confessing to molesting a young girl on several occasions.

The New York Police Department have since confirmed it has received and filed a complaint against Collins based on the tape, and that it is currently being investigated by the Manhattan Special Victims Unit.

Further to his axing from Agency of the Performing Arts, it has been announced that Collins will no longer appear in the upcoming Ted sequel, Ted 2.

He was set to appear in the next season of Scandal, but his scenes will no longer be broadcast.

The entire series of 7th Heaven re-runs have been pulled from the UP TV schedule in the US.

Pamela Greenwalt, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, also confirmed that Collins has resigned from the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild.
